Who Texts First

Frequently asked questions

How do I know my chat never leaves my browser?

Because we built it so it can't. Who Texts First reads your file, runs the numbers, and draws your cards entirely inside your own browser — there's no server for your chat to travel to. Don't take our word for it: turn on airplane mode (or switch off Wi-Fi) before you drop your file — it still works, because nothing was ever waiting on a network request. See how we prove it

How do I clear my data?

Tap Clear my data in the footer, any time. It wipes your unlock status and anything held in this browser tab and takes you back to the start — no confirmation dialog needed, since there's nothing of yours stored to lose by accident.

Is it legal to analyze someone else's texts?

That depends on how you use it, not on us — we can't see or store anything, so we're not in a position to police it either way. Use Who Texts First on chats you're actually part of, with people you know, not to check up on someone without them knowing. For the full picture, see our Privacy Policy.

Is this like Spotify's year-end recap?

Sort of — it's the same wrapped-style idea (a personal stat deck built from your own data), just built for your texts instead of your Spotify year. Who Texts First isn't made by, affiliated with, or endorsed by Spotify.

Does this work with group chats?

Not yet — Who Texts First is built for 1:1 chats right now. Group-chat stats are on our roadmap.

What file formats do you support?

A WhatsApp .txt export, a Telegram JSON export, or just paste your conversation and tag who's who — no export needed if you'd rather not.

Why $2.99, and what does it unlock?

The first card — Who Texts First — is free, forever, no account needed. $2.99 (one time, no subscription) unlocks the other 7 cards plus the video-reel export.

Do I need to make an account?

No. Never. No email, no login, no account — just drop your chat and go.

How we prove it

Turn on airplane mode, then drop or paste a chat — it still works, because everything runs inside your browser and nothing is ever sent anywhere. You can verify this yourself: open your browser’s network/developer tools while using the tool and watch that no chat data ever leaves the page.
